Hannah Bennett is a mezzo soprano from Luton and recent graduate of the Royal Academy of Music. She trained on the Preparatory Opera MA under Yvonne Howard as a Nan Copeland Scholar and was awarded a Distinction and DipRAM. Previously, she graduated from the Academy with a first-class Honours under Kathleen Livingstone.

Onstage, upcoming engagements include Madame Larina, Eugene Onegin for Opera Holland Park 2020 Young Artist Scheme and Dorabella, Cosi fan tutte  with Opera on the Move. Hannah has recently performed the roles of The Fox (The Cunning Little Vixen, Janacek/RAM VF Scenes), Romeo (I Capuleti e i Montecchi, Bellini/ RAO Scenes), Angelina (La Cenerentola, Rossini/ RAM VF Scenes), Charlotte (Werther, Massenet, RAM VF Scenes), Rosina (Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Rossini/ Italian Summer School), Flora (The Enchanted Pig, Dove/ Hampstead Garden Opera) and Tisbe (La Cenerentola, Rossini/London Young Sinfonia).

In concert, Hannah has performed at the Oxford Lieder Festival, the Amersham Music Festival and was a 2019 Leeds Lieder Festival Young Artist. She was a member of the prestigious Song Circle at the Academy from 2016 to 2019 and performed at the Italian Cultural Institute and The Holywell Music Room (Oxford Lieder), in a Schubertiade in partnership with Leeds Lieder and made her Wigmore Hall debut in a concert of Carl Loewe lieder. 

Hannah has performed in masterclasses with Anne Howells, Amanda Roocroft, Ann Murray DBE and Christopher Glynn. 


Hannah features regularly as a soloist for oratorio works around the UK, having performed at venues such as St John's Smith Square, Ely Cathedral, Sheffield Cathedral and Arundel Cathedral. She was also a soloist and regular chorus member for the recent Royal Academy of Music/ Kohn Foundation Bach Cantatas Series. She particularly enjoys performing works by Rossini, Mozart, Haydn and Elgar. Highlights include Bach's Christmas Oratorio (Eynsham Choral Society), Mozart's Mass in C Minor (2nd soprano/Luton Choral Society), Rossini's Stabat Mater (mezzo/ Louth Choral Society), Mendelssohn's Elijah (mezzo/Llandaff Choral Society), Haydn's Theresienmesse (mezzo/orpheus Singers) and Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle (alto/Cambridge Philharmonic). Future engagements include Rossini's Stabat Mater with Woodstock Music Society.
